The situation
What the client needed to solve
The fund was operating without a proper front-office technology platform. Orders were in some cases managed manually, compliance checking was ad hoc, and the trading workflow was not connected to the portfolio management system. As the board and chairman raised questions the exposure from this gap became material.
The requirement was not to upgrade an existing system — it was to build the entire capability from greenfield: select the right platform, design the target operating model, manage the implementation, and hand over a fully operational investment infrastructure.
The approach
How the work was structured
- Led the RFP process across OMS vendors, evaluating platforms against the fund's specific fixed income and treasury mandate requirements, integration constraints, and long-term scalability needs
- Designed the target operating model — covering order lifecycle, compliance rule framework, trading workflow, and integration architecture with SimCorp Dimension and Bloomberg
- Recruited and managed the delivery team: business analysts, developers, and testers across the full implementation lifecycle
- Defined and implemented compliance rules against the investment policy statement, ensuring pre- and post-trade controls were in place before go-live
- Managed system configuration, data migration, integration testing, UAT, training, and the transition to BAU operations
- Reported progress, risks, and milestones directly to the President/CEO and Board throughout delivery
